Music, Music, Music!
Enjoy the vibrant world of “edutainment” – the spectrum of programs created by the Living Music Resource™ at the University of Mississippi! LMR is seeking gifts of all sizes to support its groundbreaking approach to music education.
This innovative program gives Ole Miss students enriching experiences outside the classroom that help them become more marketable in today’s varied music industries and professions. Among initiatives are production of LMR Live, an extremely popular interactive web talk show series, as well as master classes, full productions and concerts, commissioning of new music works, intensive workshops and mentored research opportunities for music majors.
We've Got the 'Edutainment' in Us!
Nancy Maria Balach, an acclaimed performer and talented director of this award-winning program, is assisted by the LMR Dream Team of Ole Miss music students. Entertainment and interviews hosted by LMR connect both students and the public with great talent, including Grammy Award-winning performers, Broadway stars, Metropolitan Opera performers, Mississippi artists and more.
Our mission is the expansion and innovation of education through musical experiences that focus on the integration and exploration of musical styles, community connections, the arts/culture impact on the economy, unexpected collaborations, music entrepreneurship, and the involvement of Ole Miss alumni and friends.
Help LMR Continue Superb Programming
LMR has experienced tremendous growth in offerings for Ole Miss students and the local and regional communities. In order to continue providing this free, high-quality programming with renowned artists for students, community members, and online viewers, LMR has a crucial need for a stable and expanded budget to meet (and hopefully exceed) the standard of education and showmanship that has come to be expected.
LMR is dedicated to three important foundations: education, outreach and entertainment. Without an investment of private contributions, LMR's future cannot be foreseen. This campaign serves as the launchpad to build a more reliable financial future for opportunities in music education otherwise not offered at the University of Mississippi or anywhere else in the country.
All contributions will go directly to programming fees, such as overhead costs, artist fees, equipment needs, ticketing costs, travel costs to national conferences, and staffing needs.
