Thank you for your generous support!
While this project has ended, you can still make a gift at https://umfoundation.com/ignite.
Prior to the Ole Miss Food Bank opening in November 2012, UM faculty and staff often kept food and other products in their offices and classrooms to help Ole Miss students who were struggling with their nutrition and hygiene. Dining Services contributed meal tickets to students who were food insecure, and some professors would buy their students meals. But, these efforts were a temporary fix for a greater need.
Now, the Ole Miss Food Bank provides nutritional foods to the UM community, relying exclusively on support from volunteers and donors to keep its doors open. All services are 100% confidential and students' identities are kept strictly anonymous.
The mission of the Ole Miss Food Bank is to end student hunger while fostering a healthy college community. The Food Bank is currently running low on items with the holidays fast approaching. Thanks to a generous donor, the food bank now includes a refrigerator and a freezer. With your generosity, we will be able to stock the shelves and begin to incorporating frozen meals, and fresh, local produce. Giving our student healthy and nutritional options is our top priority.
Our deeply held commitment to each other is what makes our Rebel Nation able to achieve remarkable levels of excellence. Here's an opportunity to help University of Mississippi students have the nutrition they need to thrive in and out of the classroom. Please support the Food Bank and your Ole Miss Family! You can also become an ambassador of this campaign by sharing this page on your social media and via email.
