Thank you for supporting the Counseling Center and honoring our graduating class in such a meaningful way. Because of you, the Center has the necessary resources to provide life saving services to our students.

Plaques are pretty. Sidewalks are useful. But making an impact in the lives of students who come behind us truly lasts forever.
For our 2019 Senior Class Gift, your senior class officers chose to make a real difference by pledging 250 individual donations to the University Counseling Center (UCC).
As seniors, we know that the college experience is not all game days, parties, and fun with friends. Everyone needs help sometimes, whether it’s dealing with anxiety and depression, relationship issues, past trauma, or academic concerns. The Center offers students a safe environment to share, seek help and heal.
The UCC also saves lives. Suicide has become one of the leading causes of death among college students. The center’s 24-hour crisis intervention services are always available, without an appointment.
Incredibly, the UCC’s services – individual counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention, help with substance abuse and outreach – are absolutely free to students. A private counselor can charge up to $200 per hour, but the Counseling Center is just for us and the students who will follow.
All these services still come at a cost, and sometimes, there hasn’t been enough funding to meet the growing needs of an ever-increasing student body. Your gift will help cover the expenses for additional staff so that the Center can serve more of us as quickly as possible.
And on a lighter note, it’s become an Ole Miss tradition to play with the UCC’s therapy puppies during exam week. Your contribution will also help fund a full-time therapy dog to lighten the load for students who need a friendly face and a warm hug to get through a challenging time.
Zach DiGregorio, the Senior Class president, began visiting the Counseling Center in his final semester at Ole Miss.
"I wish I had started earlier in my college career," Di Gregorio said. "It took me seven semesters to finally reach out to get help, and for some people, seven semesters can be too long. My hope with this fundraiser is that we support the Counseling Center with outreach to help students when they need it most in their time at Ole Miss."
Please help us leave a lasting mark on Ole Miss. Make a gift today, share this page and spread the word.Together, we can save lives and leave this place even better than we found it.

The University Counseling Center is available to students free of charge. Your support allows the Counseling Center to continue offering vital services at no cost.
The University Counseling Center is completely confidential and no records of counseling are contained in any academic, educational or personnel files. When you give to the Counseling Center, you help provide this completely confidential service that supports our students' well-being.
Degree-seeking students enrolled at the University of Mississippi are eligible for 10 individual therapy sessions per academic year (August to August). By making a gift, you are helping to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health resources.
The University Counseling Center provides support for student concerns such as stress, grief, eating disorders, panic attacks, sleep problems, substance abuse, and relationship violence. Your support ensures these essential services are available for current and future Ole Miss Rebels.
One goal of the University Counseling Center is to provide a therapy dog. In some cases, interacting with a furry companion is an effective strategy for reducing stress and making students feel more comfortable about opening up to counselors. Your gift will combine with others to make this dream a reality and thereby help countless students.
The University Counseling Center Outreach Programming also offers other resources to Ole Miss students, faculty, staff and the Oxford community. Programs are presented on a variety of health and wellness topics. Your support allows us to continue this essential work.
The University Counseling Center is located on Dormitory Row West in Lester Hall, fourth floor. Services are in the same building as Parking Services and just up the hill from the Rebel Market/Johnson Commons. Center hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. By making an investment, you help further our mission to create a culture of acceptance and respect.
A Center counselor is on call after hours for emergencies, which are situations in which students are in danger of harming themselves or others. For after-office-hour emergencies, contact UPD at 662-915-7234 and an officer will call a crisis counselor. We are deeply committed to having counseling services available at all times. Your gifts help strengthen our crisis intervention services and change students' lives.
