Thank you for supporting University of Mississippi students. While Rebel Aid has ended, our students still need your support. Please click here to make a gift to University Health Services.
The very health care professionals who take care of us continue to need our care.
The University of Mississippi campus has an ever-growing need for health care services, yet the demands being placed on University Health Services by COVID-19 have never been greater. And, as the university prepares for the fall, these needs will only increase.
Gifts to University Health Services will allow the Student Health Center and Employee Health Services to continue to procure personal protective equipment such as masks, gowns, gloves and face shields. This equipment is crucial for the treatment of possible COVID-19 patients.
University Health Services is also in need of electrostatic sprayers and disinfectant to quickly sanitize rooms and surfaces between seeing patients. Electrostatic spray is electrically charged allowing the appropriate disinfectants to wrap around and evenly coat all types of surfaces for a more thorough cleaning. This has added significance in the face of a pandemic, when extreme measures of disinfecting patient care areas are needed to keep patients safe.
In an effort to maximize efficiency and the number of patients it can serve, Health Services is planning to secure an additional site for COVID-19 testing. Financial support is needed to equip this space with necessary equipment, such as freezers for specimen storage, IT equipment for medical record access and general medical supplies for operations.
The doctors, nurses and staff at Ole Miss are on the front lines of this pandemic. We are inspired by our health care providers’ dedication to the UM family. With your support, they will continue to be there for us. Thank you!
As our providers at the Health Center treat students and employees, their hands need protection while performing an examination or testing. A box of 100 gloves costs $10 and ensures their safety as they serve our university community.
In the midst of a global pandemic, it is critically important that we protect our providers bravely serving our population. A box of 10 N95 masks is $24.99 and allows our doctors and nurses to perform their live-saving work with adequate protection. Your gift helps us pay for these critical personal protective equipment (PPE).
As we prepare to begin the fall semester, the Health Center is adjusting the check-in procedure and waiting room configuration in order to promote social distancing and protect every patient. Your support allows us to provide our students and employees with the highest level of care possible.
Students are able to access the on-campus Health Center with no office visit charge. By supporting this on-campus resource, you are investing in the health and wellbeing of Ole Miss students and our campus.
The Student and Employee Health centers are available by appointment or walk in, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Investing in this critical resource is even more important as our campus community navigates through this global pandemic.
As our world – and specifically, our university – faces the impact of COVID-19, there is a global appreciation for the doctors and nurses who put our best interests above their own. Consider a gift in honor of a special doctor, nurse or nurse practitioner in your life.
