Elevate Rebel Relief Efforts
When the University of Mississippi quickly transitioned to virtual classes this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students suddenly had to grapple with food and housing insecurity, medical costs, and the expense of traveling home.
The Rebel Relief Disaster Fund was created so caring and compassionate supporters could help meet the most emergent needs of those UM students whose lives were unexpectedly affected by the health crisis.
Ole Miss alumni and friends stepped up to assist these students by giving to the Rebel Relief Disaster Fund. As a result of your generosity, the UM Financial Aid Office was able to provide $56,000 in grants to nearly 100 students. The average award was about $600.
The Ole Miss family deeply appreciates those who supported the Rebel Relief Disaster initiative earlier this year. The funds in this vital assistance program are nearly gone, but the needs of many students remain.
When students begin class this fall, some of them will continue to encounter financial challenges. Gifts to the Rebel Relief Disaster Fund will provide the assistance to overcome hardships and remain at Ole Miss.
By giving to this fund, you help ensure our students will have the support and resources necessary to thrive during their transformative journey at Ole Miss. Thank you!
