We all know the pivotal role pharmacists play in the health and safety of our communities. During the current public health crisis, our University of Mississippi-educated pharmacists are an essential resource for patients. The Ole Miss School of Pharmacy has prepared generations of professionals to provide crucial patient care.
As a top-rated program, we will maintain that high standard of education excellence, but the Class of 2024 will have a much different journey than those who came before them. This fall will bring unprecedented challenges surrounding COVID-19. The learning and practice environments have changed, bringing with it some additional financial costs.
While the school has maximized resources to help our students succeed, due to safety reasons, our students may be asked to purchase supplies that are usually shared in the skills lab and face-to-face experiences. This includes, but is not limited to, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs and PPE supplies.
Although a lot has changed, the importance of receiving the white coat has not. As all pharmacists know, receiving the white coat, a symbol of professionalism and commitment to all future patients, is a momentous occasion.
Along with funding the necessary medical equipment, it’s our goal that our pharmacy community comes together to purchase the white coats for our incoming first-year students. Today, you can help us recognize a student by making a gift in support of these future pharmacists.
Gifts of all sizes make a profound and immediate impact. Your support will provide critical assistance during these uncertain times, as it’s the generosity of our phamily that will keep pharmacy education and our profession moving forward.
Thank you for your commitment to Ole Miss Pharmacy, and thank you for your indispensable work as true heroes in these extraordinary times.
Once again, U.S. News and World Report has ranked the UM School of Pharmacy as one of the Top 25 pharmacy schools in the nation. Honor the School's commitment to excellence with a $25 gift!
Your $40 gift will supply one first-year student with their white coat, a symbol of professionalism and commitment. It's not expensive, but its value is immeasurable.
When the School of Pharmacy was founded in 1908, applicants had to be at least 16 years old, high school graduates, and prove they had good character. A lot has changed since then. For 112 years, the School of Pharmacy has sought to innovate to prepare students to serve patients first.
Every first-year student takes Pharmacy 400: Becoming a Pharmacist, which launches them on their professional journey. If you remember taking this class, consider a $400 gift in honor of YOUR journey!
One gift of $4,000 will provide white coats for every member of the class of 2024. Make a lasting impact.
