Support UM's Student Veterans Association

Our MBA team gratefully invites you to join in our effort to support the student Veterans on campus by giving to the Student Veterans Association here at the University of Mississippi. This campaign will help the Student Veterans Association provide the support and resources it needs to help drive and provide a positive, helpful impact on the lives of veterans and their families in the Ole Miss community.

Please partner with us in our mission as Ambassadors of this strong, vital campaign by sharing this cause through the links below. Every share helps. Our team, and the Student Veterans Association, appreciate anything that you can do to help!

The mission of the Student Veterans Association (SVA) with the support of Veteran and Military Services, is to provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education, as well as develop a sense of camaraderie within the student veteran community on campus.

The Student Veterans Association is a non-profit that supports 1500 US Military Veterans who attend The University of Mississippi as students. It is a student-run organization that depends on donated support to accomplish its goals of supporting student veterans. These students have a range of needs while on campus and it’s the SVA’s mission is to support each of them during their time at Ole Miss.

Just a year ago the Student Veterans Association moved into a new location on campus, the George Street house. They are working hard to make it into a home that serves their students’ needs. One of their recent successes is a new computer lab for student veterans to use. To further advance the technology available for these student veterans, they are now working to raise funds for a Smart Board to add to their lab. Your gift could help support their technology needs and continue to promote the sense of community the George Street House gives to the students it serves.

By creating a place for these student veterans to call home, the SVA is able to make relationships with each of these students. This allows each veteran student to receive individualized services as well as have a common place to be able to spend time with students who can relate to them. Support given to the Student Veterans Association allocates resources to an organization whose mission is to advocate for veterans pursuing higher education. The SVA not only focuses on these students’ academic success but also aids in the development of their community while a student at Ole Miss.

According to Jaime King, President of the Ole Miss Student Veterans Association, "The transition from the military environment to the scholastic environment can be quite challenging. My journey from boots to books was a difficult one, to say the least. But within that struggle lies the key to ensuring the success of these new members of the Ole Miss Family. Donations in any form help ease the tumultuous march for these men and women as they discover their second service career. Whether its physical resources necessary for daily operations such as scantrons, pencils, books or more experience based donations such as event tickets, dinner invitations, or sponsorships every gesture shows the members of the Student Veterans Association that the Ole Miss community is here for them in any and all facets of their career path. Simply put, it bolsters the drive and success rate of our newest and bravest Ole Miss Rebels."

Thank you!

We, along with the Student Veterans Association, thank all of you that have contributed to this cause financially and shared this cause with others. Your support truly makes a big difference in the lives of the Veterans we support and their families.

We encourage you to seek out other opportunities to support important causes on campus and in your own communities.
