A Long Journey Home

It's 7,367.44 miles from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan to Oxford, Mississippi. On Aug. 30, 2021, the U.S. Air Force completed the largest humanitarian airlift evacuation of civilians in history from this airport, evacuating more than 124,000 people from Afghanistan as the country fell to the Taliban. Many Afghan students and scholars -- especially female scholars -- hope to continue their academic careers at American universities. Your donation at this level could support full living expenses for an entire semester for a displaced student or scholar!
