Supply Our New Teachers With an Essential Kit!

Every year, about 250 students in the School of Education’s early childhood, elementary, secondary, special, and health and physical education degree programs complete their education degrees and venture out into new careers as young teachers. While most of our graduating students serve school districts in Mississippi, our UM School of Education graduates can be found in classrooms around the country!

Let's send this next generation of teachers out into the world with all the tools they need to be successful. In addition to preparing lessons, young teachers need school supplies, which can be expensive for our new graduates. With your help, we will provide the classroom essentials our students need as they begin their teaching careers. 

We invite all of our School of Education alumni and friends to help us supply our future teachers by sponsoring an Education Essentials Kit for our graduating seniors. Each kit contains a foldable, portable canvas tote filled with supplies, such as an SOE coffee mug, a stapler and staples, pens and pencils, sticky notes, dry erase markers and erasers, a tape dispenser, paper clips, a three-hole punch, scissors, magnets, an SOE pennant and Chick-Fil-A digital gift cards donated by our Oxford location.

With your gift, you will have the opportunity to write a note of encouragement as our student teachers prepare to enter the classroom. This note may be written to a student of your choice or someone chosen at random.
