Students running for Associated Student Body executive officer positions are allowed to spend up to $750 on campaign expenses, according to the ASB code. The limit is intended to keep campaigns fair.
However, $750 can still be a barrier for some students seeking higher office, especially if the student campaigns for office independently of a sponsoring group. The ASB Future Leaders Fund is designed to remove these barriers to entry in high-level student government positions, ensuring equitable opportunities for students from all walks of life in shaping the University’s future.
Why We Need Your Help
The ASB Code and Constitution allow students to source campaign funding from nearly any private means, including sponsorship by organizations. Students who want to get involved on campus but have no sponsoring organization must fund their campaigns themselves. Running a full campaign for an elected officer position can be more costly for some students. This fund would allow those students to worry less about the financial burden of campaigning and pursue leadership at the highest level.

Students and faculty alike support the need to broaden the support base for students seeking high-level leadership roles. The idea behind the fund is simple: students can apply for small grants to cover their campaign costs, paid by the ASB Future Leaders Fund.

With a $25 gift, you can help ensure that students who are not sponsored by a fraternity or sorority can campaign on equal footing with candidates backed by the Greek system in the upcoming 2025 ASB elections. Help make campus leadership more equitable for all students!
Did you know that 50% of Ole Miss students are not Greek-affiliated? The University of Mississippi has a multitude of student groups and activities outside the fraternity and sorority system, but these groups usually don't have the finances to sponsor an ASB campaign. With your $50 gift, you ensure that these non-Greek students have the campaign funds they need to participate in campus leadership!
2025 is the 108th anniversary of the Associated Student Body leadership. When you make a $108 gift, you help us ensure that the next 108 years of the ASB are more fair and more representative of all students.
Give $301 in honor of our ASB headquarters: Located in Suite J301 of the Gertrude C. Ford Student Union. The main ASB office serves as the hub of all six divisions of student governance on campus and is open to all. With your gift, you can ensure that our Ole Miss student leadership is truly for all students.
