UM Diaper Bank: Growing with Grove Grocery
Dollars for diapers! Help the UM Diaper Bank supply Ole Miss student parents.

Everyone knows being a college student can be stressful. But more than 2,500 University of Mississippi students balance the stress of classes and exams with the extra responsibilities of being parents.
Ole Miss is committed to supporting all our students as they seek to better their lives through higher education. That’s why the UM Student Parent Support Fund was started. Through a partnership with Grove Grocery (the Ole Miss food pantry), the Ole Miss Parent and Caregiver Success Program has established the UM Diaper Bank for student parents in need. Your gifts to the UM Diaper Bank will stock the shelves at Grove Grocery with free diapers for our Ole Miss student parents.
Give to the UM Diaper Bank today to alleviate the financial strain on student parents and help them to get to class, stay in school and earn their degrees!
Your support impacts not only parents' educational outcomes but children's health as well. When babies don't have enough diapers to stay clean and dry, they have more medical problems, and maternal stress and depression spikes. Diapers for one child cost around $100 every month, forcing student parents to make tough choices. Some will forgo food to buy diapers.
Having clean diapers also impacts class attendance and work study. Child-care facilities require parents to provide diapers for their child; without an adequate daily number of diapers, a parent cannot access child care, and without child care, parents cannot get to class and jobs. One in four parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required by child-care providers — this number is even
higher for parents who are also students.
The UM Student Parent Support Fund will use your gifts to purchase diapers and provide them to students through Grove Grocery. Many student parents already use Grove Grocery due to food insecurity, so this is a convenient location to access help.
A few extra packages of diapers each month can bring diaper costs down to a manageable level, keep babies healthy and keep parents in school. This means parents with lower stress — keeping their noses to the grindstone and their eyes on the prize.
Because Ole Miss means family.

Missing Class, Missing Work
Diapers are so expensive that around 25% of parents miss school or work because of a lack of diapers. Parents who send children to caregivers while they go to work or school must provide their own diapers, and sometimes, the expense is too much. Help alleviate some of that burden with a small gift!
$50
Clean, Dry and Healthy
According to a national study, 50% of all families struggle to afford enough diapers to keep their babies clean, dry and healthy. Waiting to change a soiled diaper can lead to painful rashes and urinary tract infections. Help keep our Ole Miss Family healthy and happy with a donation to the UM Diaper Bank!
