Help us Grow Men of Excellence at Ole Miss

This fall, more than 70 young men at the University of Mississippi were inducted into the Men of Excellence, a brotherhood welcoming all who are committed to brotherhood, perseverance, and mentorship. 

For well over a decade, Men of Excellence at UM has contributed to our campus community with service projects, informative speakers, supportive social events and mentoring opportunities. Our organization exists to encourage, cultivate and honor confidence, integrity and self-respect. MOX members serve as positive role models for our campus and young people in our surrounding communities. Our ultimate goal is to support members academically and socially as they matriculate at UM.

William Johnson, a senior exercise science major from Clinton, Mississippi, said MOX has positively impacted his college experience in many different ways. 

"I can genuinely say that MOX has had an impact on my leadership larger than anything else," Johnson said. "It has given me a platform and opportunity to foster a community and bring programs to life that make people love this university.”

We are reaching out now to ask for your financial support of MOX’s important mission. Dr. EJ Edney, one of MOX’s founding members and a three-time UM graduate who now serves as associate dean of students at Vanderbilt University, said Men of Excellence was foundational to his success.

“I believe in Men of Excellence because of what it did for me and my fellow founding members, because of what it continues to do for men of all backgrounds at Ole Miss," Edney said. "Your gift of any size helps solidify that legacy and ensures that generations to come benefit from the work we’ve all put in to making the University of Mississippi a flagship for all.”
