Thank you so much for supporting the Museum's #FREEFAMILYDAYS Campaign. It often takes years to see the results of a charitable gift, but your contribution is being put to use to change the lives of Oxford and Lafayette families right now! Your gift will support a record four family days this fall, starting with our Let's Move! Family Day on the Bailey's Woods Trail this Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 10-noon. Families will get outside and active as part of First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign as they explore art and nature with activities all along the trail.

In this campaign, $5 can really make a difference! We are so thrilled that we have raised over $1000 in the first week of the campaign. If every person that currently "likes" the Museum Facebook page gave just $5, we would exceed our goal instantly. If every person who attended family days in the past year gave $5, we would exceed our goal instantly.

Thank you to Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi for supporting our Free Family Days campaign with a Corporate Sponsorship! BMH-NM has generously provided funding that will cover an entire year of Free Family Days at the UM Museum and boosted us so close to our goal of 3 years of Free Family Days. The children of our community thank you and so does our entire UM Museum staff.

We’ve raised $5,403 so far and we’ve reached 90% of our goal of funding Free Family Days programs for 3 years here at the UM Museum.  Won’t you help us with the last $597?

With your donation you would be insuring the UM Museum continues to offer FREE unique and educational programming to our community children for the next 3 years. Our programs in the past included these fun and engaging topics:

Santa's Workshop Family Day: Families created winter scenes inspired by Theora Hamblett, played with "snow," listened to a story, and rode the "elf mobile" to the Gingerbread Village at the Ford Center

Travel Back Through Time Family Day: Families traveled in the Travelometer 6000 as they made headdresses of pharaohs from Ancient Egypt, bean mosaics inspired by the Greek city of Olynthos, participated in a prehistoric dig, and even created printed cities of the future.

Let's Move! Family Day: Families find hidden art, paint giant outdoor canvases, and eat healthy trail mix as they explore the Baileys Woods Trail together

The Museum's Family Days have been providing unique and memory making opportunities for children, parents, and grandparents for 4 years. Please help us continue to provide these wonderful opportunities for the next three years and beyond.
